Sargent is able to manufacture a one piece flow, welding subassembly, and progressive assembly process. With all 7 workstations manned, production completion rates of 2 minutes exactly match the tact time required. Customer demand of a unit every two minutes and a delivery rate of a unit every two minutes a perfect match.

Utilizing the latest Kan Ban manufacturing techniques, Sargent Metal Fabricators is now offering Lean Assembly Manufacturing. The teaming of manufacturing and team-assembly services compliments existing Sargent Metal Fabricators workflows and ensures a seamless cost-effective process.

Directly behind the welding subassembly stations are the purchased parts required for the entire operation. These parts are set up on a Kan Ban system. Each location is part specific, quantity specific and utilizes a simple visual replenishment system.

At the end of the welding subassembly stations, all the fabricated in house parts are in KanBan carts, working with the same concepts as the purchased parts.

The progressive assembly line is designed to work as a moving line for the most simple models, and portable tables can be installed to have static workstations while building the more difficult models. Supply bins at the assembly stations are fed from the KanBan supermarket of purchased parts. Workstations are designed with mobility to fit the ergonomic needs of most employees.

Finished goods inventory owned by Smart Vent is controlled by Sargent. Orders are sent daily, as demands are received by Smart Vent, packaged by Sargent Employees, and sent out the same day for delivery to the customer.
